Uploading your ITT, what happens next
From upload to ready-to-draft: every step the system performs, and what to do if anything is missed.
5 min read Updated 22 May 2026
When you upload an ITT (Invitation to Tender), the workspace runs a sequence of processing steps before you start drafting. The whole pipeline typically completes in 90 seconds to 3 minutes depending on document length.
The processing pipeline
- 1UploadPDF, Word, or ZIP (for multi-document ITTs). Files up to 200MB.
- 2ReadingDocument is parsed, text extracted from PDFs (including scanned PDFs via OCR), Word structure preserved.
- 3ExtractingTender metadata identified, buyer, reference number, deadline, value, submission method.
- 4DetectingContract form detected (NEC3/4, FIDIC, JCT, etc.) and the relevant compliance report initialised.
- 5Compliance scanMandatory criteria, Z-clauses, X-clauses, key obligations, risk flags.
- 6MatchingQuestions extracted and matched against your vault for draft pre-population.
- 7ReadyWorkspace opens with questions in left navigator, draft editor in centre, AI assistant on right.
If questions are missed
Sometimes the parser misses questions, particularly in unusually formatted ITTs. Open the Bid Structure Navigator on the left, click Add question, paste the question text and word limit, and the workspace adds it to your response and pre-populates a draft from your vault.
